very fine needles into special points on energy lines of the body, the
meridians. Practitioners are trained in Oriental Medicine using pulse,
body and tongue diagnosis to complement the case history. Treatment may
also include moxibustion (the burning of a dried herb on the needle),
acupressure massage and the prescription of herbal remedies.

Allergy Diagnosis and
Treatment
Many common health problems today result from food and environmental
sensitivities, which can be identified by allergy testing. Treatment
aims initially to strengthen immunity to offending toxins and allergens
and, secondly, to reduce the body's toxic load. Health is restored by
means of homeopathic remedies and desensitisation, along with attention
to diet and nutritional supplementation according to individual need.

lifts stress and tension, and can alleviate a range of more systemic
illnesses.
Fee

Bowen Technique
This
is a remarkable healing method, virtually
all-embracing in possible applications. Consisting of a sequence of very
precise and gentle moves over muscle and soft tissue, interspersed with
periods of rest for adjustments to be absorbed, it can achieve long term
relief from chronic and acute pain in as few as three or four
treatments. Besides being effective for musculoskeletal problems, Bowen
is good for stress and tension and helps relieve complications of
allergy such as migraine headaches.
Fee £35 consultation and treatment.

movement and function.

Counselling
Is productive in many different situations. With sympathetic guidance an
individual who may feel beset by problems is enabled to see
opportunities hidden in a crisis and discover empowering ways forward
which increase the sense of meaning and purpose in life. This process
develops self understanding and new interpersonal skills, and helps cope
with anger, fear, anxiety and stress.
Fees
£30-£45 per session

CranioSacral Therapy
This grew out of the work of Dr John Upledger in the 1970s, following Dr William Sutherland’s earlier development of cranial osteopathy. It involves gentle palpation of the bones of the skull, sacrum and coccyx, which attach to the membranes enclosing the cerebrospinal fluid of the central nervous system. Light-touch manipulation of this craniosacral system is effective with many poorly understood dysfunctions, chronic pain and low energy as well as early developmental problems such as colic, hyperactivity and learning disabilities.
Fee £45 consultation and treatment

Herbal Medicine
Herbal Medicine today understands the therapeutic applications of plant
medicines in terms of current scientific research as well as traditional
usage and the clinical experience of modern herbalists. A very wide
range of conditions responds well to botanical remedies, herbs being
given to restore proper function to the body and enhance innate
vitality. They are dispensed as tinctures, juices and decoctions; or in
the form of tablets and capsules.
Fees
£50 first consultation including first week’s medicine

Homeopathy
Homeopathy has developed from its European origin two hundred years ago
into a system of medicine which now provides safe and effective health
care for millions of people worldwide. A homeopath selects remedies
according to the principle "like cures like", i.e. a substance known to
produce a set of symptoms in healthy people can also cure similar
symptoms in someone who is ill. Both minor and serious illnesses respond
well.

can take place.

Nutrition
Nutrition may be used as preventative health care for optimum well-being
and to delay the ageing process, or as a central focus in the treatment
of disease. This therapy assesses nutritional factors which may be
contributing to illness, such as vitamin and mineral deficiencies, food
allergies and internal toxicity. A programme of revised diet and
nutritional supplements is then drawn up according to individual need.

and adjustment of these corrective measures.

Reflexology
Reflexology works on the premise that there are reflex zones on the
hands and feet relating to our entire anatomy: applying a specific
compression massage to these reflex points, healing can be facilitated
in corresponding areas of the body. A sensitive therapist can use this
technique therapeutically to great advantage.
Fee
£30 consultation and treatment.

Massage

the laying on of hands close to
